Xiaomi’s 18:9 Ratio might be the new thing In Redmi Note 5 Plus

In this era of bezel-less smartphones where almost every smartphone making company is busy making a phone with no bezels, Xiaomi- one of the leading smartphone companies from China-has just one bezel-less smartphone in its kitty- the Mi Mix 2. But rumours have it that this could change now. There are talks that Xiaomi is working on a smartphone designed on the lines of Mi Mix 2. And now the appearance of a mysterious Xiaomi phone with 18:9 aspect ratio is adding on to this rumour.

A Xiaomi smartphone with thin bezels and a display with 18:9 aspect ratio has been spotted on the Chinese certification site TENAA. Although, the site mentions no name or description of the phone, there are wild guesses that this phone could be the successor of Redmi Note 4 aka the Redmi Note 5.Redmi Note 5 was seen online in July, where the puported specs and plan of the smartphone was spilled. The telephone is expected to gloat a metal body simply like its predecessor – the Redmi Note 4. A leak from Hub91Mobiles uncovers that the smartphone will have a fingerprint sensor set at the back, proving the past rumours wrong that suggested that the smartphone could see revive in terms of  the fingerprint sensor placement and could be set on the front.


The upcoming Redmi Note 5 is rumoured to be accompanied by a  Snapdragon 660. A recent report suggests that the phone could be powered by Snapdragon  636.

The smartphone is expected to come with an overhauled camera than the Redmi Note 4. There are reports that the smartphone could don a dual 16MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie-camera on the front.

Amidst other rumours of the Redmi Note 5, the smartphone could sport a 5.5-inch full HD display and run on Android Nougat-based MIUI 9 OS. The phone could be backed by a 4000mAh battery. Leaks hint that there could be three variants of the phone- the Redmi Note 5 with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, the Redmi Note 5 with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage and lastly the Redmi Note 5 with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The base 3GB RAM is expected to cost around $175 (approx Rs 11,338), while the 4GB RAM/32GB capacity could be price around $205 (approx Rs 13,281). The 4GB RAM/64GB Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 may be priced at  $220 (approx Rs 14,253).
